Were you planning on ordering sushi take-out tonight? Well there’s been a change of plans. Roll up your sleeves and get ready to roll some rice because you’re making sushi at home tonight! Don’t worry, it’s not as difficult as it sounds.
Sushi Three Ways
In this recipe, you’ll have the option of using either tuna, salmon or shrimp.
First, you’ll want to cook the rice in equal amount of water until it is soft. Be sure to add extra water if needed. Remove the rice from the heat and allow it to cool for about 10 minutes.
Next, you’re going to mix the mirin and sugar together. Stir the mixture into the rice until liquid absorbs. When using the pre-cooked shrimp, you’ll want to leave on the tails and butterfly. Thinly slice the tuna and salmon (be sure to cut against the grain).
Scoop a small portion of cooled rice into your hand and form it into shape of a small bar. Top rice with choice of salmon, tuna, or shrimp. Don’t forget the soy sauce for dipping!
