It’s time to mix it up in the kitchen with this traditional Japanese dish, also known as “pork shogayaki” — a common lunch menu items in home-style Japanese restaurants. Easy, fast and full of flavor, this Japanese Ginger Pork bowl is perfect as a busy weekday meal. Serve with a side of rice to soak up all the excess sauce — yum!
Japanese Ginger Pork and Cabbage
Original # of Servings: 1
pork tenderloin – 3 ounce
cabbage – 2 ounce
red cabbage – 4 tablespoon
red bell pepper – 1/8
salad mix – 2 tablespoon
sesame seeds – 1 teaspoon
ginger – 1 teaspoon
low sodium soy sauce – 1 tablespoon
mirin – 1 tablespoon
extra virgin olive oil – 1 tablespoon
- In a bowl, combine soy sauce, mirin, ginger, and sesame seeds.
- Heat olive oil on medium-high in a skillet. Add bite sized pork pieces and cook thoroughly. Add sauce to skillet, and toss to coat. Remove from heat and set aside.
- Add chopped cabbage, lettuce, and sliced bell pepper to bowl. Top with ginger pork.
