Yep, you heard right, fruit isn’t just for breakfast. Especially in the warmer months, when more produce is in season, fruit can be a wonderful compliment to all sorts of dinner recipes. We’re going to show you 5 ways to incorporate those tangy, citrusy, and sweet flavors into your next meal.
1. Salads Galore
This may be the most obvious way to add fruit to your dinner, but that doesn’t mean it should be overlooked. From strawberries and feta, to peach and chicken, these salty-sweet combinations make delicious appetizers for summer barbecues!
Hint: fruit is also a tasty addition to vinaigrettes!
2. Sauce it up
If you love berry jam, you’ll love adding berry-based sauces to your dinner (think cranberry sauce and turkey). They work well with fish, poultry, and steak, but our personal favorite is this recipe for tilapia with blueberry sauce.
3. It’s Taco Time
Adding fruit to salsa is an expert move in the kitchen. We highly recommend using mango or pineapple to compliment shrimp or chicken tacos, like in this recipe right here.
