The Perfect Valentine’s Day Dinner

If you forgot to make a reservation this year, or just prefer spending a romantic night in your own home, this post is for you. I’m going to go through the many parts that make up the perfect Valentine’s Day meal. Since I did all the heavy lifting, you and your special someone can just get right to cooking.

Part 1: The Cheese Plate

A cheese plate for two is a perfect opportunity to pick one of your favorite cheeses, and one completely new one. Pair it with your favorite crackers and fig jam, and you’ll have the evening off to a great start.

Part 2: The Salad

In the winter months, no salad fills my heart like a beet and goat cheese salad. Add toasted almonds and balsamic glaze and you’ve got yourself a restaurant-quality starter. Alternatively, you can opt for a decadent pumpkin soup (like this one right here).

Part 3: The Entrée

The first decision you have to make is the protein. In my opinion, nothing says love like a juicy New York Strip. Then, you have to decide on the base. Do you want to pair it with a starch like mashed potatoes, or maybe greens like sautéed swiss chard? For the next side, cook your significant other’s favorite vegetable. This recipe for New York Strip over Sautéed Swiss Chard with Roasted Cauliflower sounds like my dream meal!

If you’re not a steak fan, another February 14th worthy recipe is this one for lemon chicken with pesto gnocchi and seared mushrooms.

Part 4: Dessert

You’ll never go wrong with a box of truffles ❤
