Must-Have: Cast-Iron Skillet

Cast-iron skillets are the holy grail of cookware, and I am going to tell you why. As always, safety first. Cast-iron skillets are naturally non-stick (when well-seasoned), so you an avoid the potentially harmful chemicals released when using a typical non-stick skillet.

In addition to safety, here are some reasons you may want to bring a cast-iron skillet into your kitchen:

  1. The sturdiness of the cast-iron material holds on to heat, making the pan heat more evenly.
  2. You can move them from stove into the oven, making it a great help for cooking meats and fish.
  3. Since they are naturally non-stick, they are easy to clean.
  4. They’re also perfect for one-pan meals, like a personal pizza, an egg skillet, or meat and veggies.
